Not Eladrin

I am starting to believe that Voss and myself represent the only Eladrin that remain on Haven.
Anabalis and her contingent have revealed themselves as devils from a world shard that has detached itself from the chain.
We discovered that the chief Archivist had been killed by a mist devil trying to get access to the central archives. We set a trap that led us back to Anabalis. We defeated her but took her prisoner. She claims to re[present devils who have the power to remove Haven from the chain. They wished access to the archives in order to determine who has the power to sign a treaty for the entire world.

The treaty would remove Haven from the chain but would require that Haven provide aid to fight the demonic incursion in future worlds.

The only group that has the power to sign such a treaty would be the Council of Seasons. Currently only Priness Betina and Voss are definite members (representing Fall and Winter respectively) with the regent of Ascension being a possible third. In order to sign such a treaty, all four houses would need to be represented.

The Devils definitely appear to take the shortest possible route to achieve their ends.

Another delegation was sent to Ascension but we have had Anabalis attempt to recall them as we fear that Demonic influence is strong there.

We are heading to Portsmouth to attempt to find more details about the Nefleheim family (and potentially the other two families as well). On the way, however, we are going to stop and talk to the fey. They are currently aligned with Ascension against Barera. We hope to provide enough information to have them switch sides. Or at least remove themselves from the conflict.

The Eastern Eladrin

While my companions shunted me off to continue my reasearch, they gained an audience with the Eladrin delegation from the East led by Anabalis. They claim to have fought the Enemy for 20,000 years which is longer that we have been on Haven. When questioned on this, they evasively implied that they were from the previous world.
The pounding is Kansul's horde trying to breach the wards placed on the world by the Barerans. Barera is where the initial group fled the previous world. Thus it is closest to the demonic world behind us. This is likely why the energies most affected them.
The Barerans credit Eladrius for preventing them from going mad when the demonic energies came through. He had set up a system to allow them to retain themselves. For whatever reason, this system did not protect the halflings. Yet again we find halflings more immediately and deeply affected by extraplanar energies.

It was 50 years ago the Mount Ascension became cloaked in the darkness we dissipated but only 5 years ago the demon began to try to breach the wards in Barera (causing the banging). "She who sleeps on roofs" earlier told us that the Son told her to allow the undead onto Mount Ascension. Perhaps he sees the Lich Queen as a potential ally against Kansul.

More research

Ah the bliss of some uninterrupted time for proper research!
Tecera's are referred to as the third in the ancient language. They form a bridge between the being and the land. This is what allows (or strengthens) the ability of an extra planar being to influence a world. Thus the Possibility, which is a Far Realm Tecera, allowed the corrupting and randomizing energies of the Far Realms to influence the area around it. Given the nature of the Far Realms, it is unclear if there was an intelligence acting through the Tecera or if the Tecera itself had obtained its own, strange sentience.

Betina is the last survivor of the House of Fall. During the magical disruption 97 years ago, the Aerie of Fall was docked at Barera and the remains are outside of the city (having been converted for continued dwelling and use)

The Nefleheim Aerie (The Aerie of Winter) was going to Barera (to ask their aid against the undead) when we went to Furlough but (according to Betina) but was diverted to Treacher's Folly instead. Treacher's Folly is well within the control of the undead and is now surrounded by a veil of continuous blackness as we found on Ascension. If we are to find the remains of the Nefleheim clan, it will be here.
Portsmouth is the edge of this zone of darkness. This is also where Baern's former lover, Oefa may be found.

In Barera at last

We have reached Barera with notes of introduction from both Mistress Kim and Lord Tweedsbury. Some Eladrin from an unrecognized house are in conference with princess Betina.
The magical banging we have encountered elsewhere is so strong in Barera it makes the very ground shake. We must be near the epicenter.

Time for research

It would appear that Baern has a connection to a religious scholar of some note, Oefa Granhelm.
One of the the books that Baern recovered from the redactionists in Ascension was by this luminary.
Before we went to Furlough (and all this madness started), Bearn and Oefa had a romantic trist. Of course, Oefa being of a noble house, this resulted in her parents being most upset. Indeed, these are the events that led to his being assigned to the Neflheim court.
In the intervening years, Oefa was not idle. 75 years after the fall, Oefa's studies into souls led her to conclude that the gods of Haven are responsible for the large number of undead present in Haven when compared to Furlough.
Her theory is that the pantheon is out of balance. The souls of good people are collected by the gods but those of evil beings are not. Since the soul cannot be destroyed, it finds a vessel and creates a "naturally" occurring undead. In comparison in Furlough, which has a more diverse pantheon, only undead created through rituals are found.
If "She who sleeps on roofs" is correct then the thought processes, personality, and very being of a deity are influenced by the souls that they collect. This is both what caused Peter Kovak to break into the existing Pantheon in Furlough and what forced him to destroy the Haven Tecera. In both cases, he was absorbing too wide a variety of souls.

It would appear that earlier worlds on the chain were lost because evil gods sided with the demons. Thus two experiments were tried: On Haven an all good pantheon was created (resulting in natural undead and the eventual ascension of an undead deity, the Lich Queen). On Furlough, monotheism was attempted (resulting in the splintering of the overstretch god)

We have finally had time to research the books we recovered from the redactionists.

Many of the more ancient books talk about old gods and their fight with the Primordials. These old gods are part of the basic creation myths of the universe. According to the books, the old gods lost to the Primordials and, in their defeat, split the universe into the current chain of universes. Thyey spread their essences across the new world and these essences have formed the nucleus of the new gods.
Kansul and his demon forces are the soldiers of the Primordials. However, where the Primordials wish to create and destroy in an endless cycle, the demons wish to destroy without creation. Thus they have been consuming world after world.
Angels and Devils both represent the soldiers on the sides of the old gods. Angels have turned away from directly fighting Kansul and instead work with the new deities to protect intelligent life. The devils continue their struggle, using whatever means necessary to win.

Thew new gods are not as powerful as the old gods. We have evidence that their essence can be collected (this collection from the previous worlds is what formed the basis of the energies used to uplift the current pantheon). However, if this collection does not occur, their essence dissipates. It is not clear if the energy is lost forever or if it will later coalesce on its own, forming a new proto-deity.

Upon fleeing to Haven, the scholars of the time believed that the god fragment that was here was that of a nature deity due to the lushness of the world. Given the drift of the Mother towards a feral, naturalistic stance, it may be that she is becoming aligned with the base alignment of Haven itself.

Mind Control

Once again the base tenants of research have been thwarted by my companions.
Mistress Kim and others all had a series of marks around their face before disappearing. Some have healed to near invisibility.
Lord Tweedsbury was close at hand and we were able to examine him. He was mind controlled by another being. We (along with Berkley the steward) fled the embassy and attempted to find a place to capture the Possibility in the Grotius Cube. Along the way we were ambushed by more corrupted halflings.
We holed up in a warehouse to attempt to both capture the Possibility and allow Baern to attempt to remove the affliction on Lord Tweedsbury.

Berkley was the source of the mind control. He alerted more halflings to our possition and then revealed himself as a Far Realm creature whose face was made up of finely articulated fingers. By tightly gripping a face he could exert control over that being. Hence the marks we found.

We defeated the halflings and Berkly and he proved to actually be a smaller, insectoid creature attached to the remains of Berkley's face. I subdued the creature and would have recovered it for study had Yulia not destroyed it.

I do not understand why my companions insist at continually putting us at a disadvantage.

We have contained the Possibility and restored Lord Tweedsbury.

Ahem

It would appear that for the past several days, I have been under the influence of a powerful Tecera. A tecera aligned to the far realm as opposed to any specific godly plane.
Under this influence, I blithely destroyed parts of my spell books and conducted horrifyingly dangerous experiments with the Grotius Cube. Indeed, had my experiments been fruitful, I might have destroyed this very plane.
Instead, it would appear that I have discovered how to activate the cube.
The party entered the temple of possibility and defeated the council of 12 (a group of beholders)
Ascending the helix staircase to the cube floating above the city, we encountered the tecera; a semi mobile piece of comet. It spoke to us through our own mouths.
It would appear that the tecera appeared AFTER the patriarch claims to have regained use of magic. The two events are close in chronilogical order in any event.
It is after withdrawing from our first meeting that I was able to finish the activation of the cube.
On returning, we were forced to fight our way back up the helix and the tecera itself attempted to protect itself.
Altering reality itself, it built a maze around itself and caused the party to behave in unpredictable ways. Upon defeat, the maze as well as the helix and floating cube all disappeared.
Cautiously, I placed another being in the Grotius Cube. My concern was the potential effects of Far Realm energies on the Cube.
We returned with the Cube and the Tecera to the Berreran compound. Unfortunately, the unsuppressed Tecera attracted its halfling guards (Halflings continue to seem HIGHLY affected by planar energies). I had to work on a ritual to extract the Cube's occupant before we could place the Tecera inside.
We still have not had the opportunity to trap the Tecera in the Grotius Cube. We are consistently interrupted by halflings who have been affected by the Possibility. Perhaps the Possibility is attracting them.
We currently have no sign of Mistress Kim. Without her, there is no way to activate the portal to Berera.

The possibility (Kill them.... kill them all....)

What has happened?
It would appear that I was under the influence of some sort of mental effect

The others are a threat. They must be dealt with. And soon.

I have destroyed nearly a third of my spellbook in a futile attempt to invert the grotius cube. We are all fortunate that I did not succeed as the cube contains enough energy to easily destroy the continent.

The effort was misdirected. Use the cube to open a passage back up the chain. Seek allies amongst those that came.

There was one positive outcome. My undiscipline experimentation did result in the beginnings of what may be a ritual to allow the PROPER activation of the cube. More research (in a properly controlled setting) is required.

They stand in our way... stop them...

We engaged with calubrians who were transporting a chest of "possibilities" apparently this refers to astral diamonds (the concentrated essense of ascended beings) We failed to recover the chest.

Yessssss... the possibilities. Get them for usss.

During the fight I drew out the wand / arm bone that we earlier obtained from the lord of teeth. The rest of the party was told that I had destroyed it. They took it from me and have now, actually, destroyed it.

A setback, nothing more. We shall find a way.

Since then, I have sensed a presence.

No need to worry, we shall help you.

Ferbin

We have arrived at Ferbin.

There is a large and Fascinating flying building powered by a double Helix propulsion system.
Lord Tweedsbury, head of the Barreran diplomatic delegation is here.

It appears that the people of Ferbin are being affected by mental disabilities. I’m not overly concerned by this and, regardless; don’t seem to be currently affected. Voss is concerned that it is the actions of the daughter so I suspect that he has been rendered paranoid.

Ferbin has been going through a magical renaissance for the last 25 years propted by the possibility (the large flying building) but, unfortunately, access is restricted by the council of 12 eyes.

We are headed to some goblinoid ruins outside of town where older (possibly Colubrian) ruins have been found.

I’m sure everything will work out.

We have encountered some Colubrians with powers to turn creatures to stone. As expected, no difficulties were had.

An idea has come to me; if I were to invert the Grotius Cube it would be able to expel a massive amount of energy. I think I have the idea for the basic layout. All I need are some focusing cones… Perhaps the underused pages of my spellbook. The paper is arcanely reinforced which will allow them to hold the necessary charge. They will, of course, be consumed in the process but the resulting revelations will be worth it. I suspect that I should have no difficulty controlling the energy discharge.

An odd action, to both sides.

The treants arranged against Barrera summoned a huge nature spirit to breach the walls.

As it approached the keep, it was disctracted by a strong source of demonic energy. Enraged, it approached but the energy was simply bait in a trap. Huge demonically infused chains wrapped the creature and began to corrupt it. The research opportunity was too great to pass up so I (and my companions) approached the site and freed the creature. It appears that it will recover from its corruption.

This action was not enough to stop the creature, however. It continued on its path and breached the keep walls.

We have fled but Krusp has not been fully true to his word. We were supposed to go to Barrera but instead are headed to Ferbin a free city where a Barreran diplomatic team has lost contact.

Fort Basil

We have reached Fort Basil.
Its commander is Lord Montigan Crusp who we met before along the border. At the time we were escorting Ascension settlers off of Barreran territory. It would appear that the fact that we did not prevent them from resettling has caused Crusp to consider us oath breakers.

Of more immediate concern is the fact that Montigan Crusp has a crude binding symbol carved into his forehead. All of the survivors of Casa Tarsan have the same symbol. Crusp claims it was placed by the Ascension.

In studying the symbol, I have discovered that there is a demon bound into the symbol. Further, any attempt to heal the symbol will, unfortunately, result in possession. Crusp is bound to not draw any blood or a demon will be released.

Crusp has a mission at Fort Basil but will not tell us what it is. As a reult, Mistress Kim has been unwilling to activate the teleportation circle and we have been unprepared (as of yet) to force our way through.

As we have been stuck in the stronghold, the Ascension forces and their allies have invested the hold. A unified band of Treants were attacked by summoned demons. However, the summoning took place from within the Ascension ranks.

This is either clear evidence of Ascension demonic involvement or a very elaborate Berreran ruse. We have spread word amongst the Ascension as to the source of the demons but I fear it will not stop the imminent attack.

It would appear we have

In the final stretch of reaching the Bareran stronghold, we were forced to defend ourselves against an order of Paladins devoted to the Father. This will make our case in Ascension even more tenuous.

Have we cast our lot?

It would appear that the Barerans guard their borders quite carefully.
At our first crossing, we met a patrol that demanded we hand over our weapons.
We declined and retreated back to Ascension.
Hiding our more powerful weapons in my secret chest, we made a second passage and allowed non magical weapons to be taken.

Prisoners of this Bareran troop, we began to travel to the North East, away from our destination.

A group of trolls acting in concert with Ascension skirmishers attacked the group and we defended the group. This allowed us greater freedom and trust of the soldiers.

Things that they have told us:
1. There is actually a teleportation circle in the location we travel to. Barera has a working teleportation network.
2. Ascension has made peace with the Miconids we encountered outside of Steirhold. Indeed they seem to have a wide variety of allies (the people of Furlough, Trolls)
3. Ascension has started their march to war.

It is not clear as to the true goals of either side. The Malefarcium claim that, invariably, the side corrupted by demonic influence ends up siding with the demons. This would seem to be a strong case against the Barerans. However, it is currently expedient for us to ally ourselves with them.

Fleeing an Ascension party that outnumbered our own, we entered a deep copse of wood that was inhabited by primal creatures that sought our memories. Were these another reflection of the Mother's decent into instinct and potential madness?
I believe that it remains our best strategy to ally with Barera long enough to gather additional data. Only then can an informed decision be made.
I continue to struggle with the Grotius Cube. I will unlock its secrets.

Redactionists

Obviously, I had to retrieve my memories!
We entered the Scriveners compound and subdued the guards.
Below ground, we found a large complex that went down through both Goblin and PRE Goblin architecture. We dispatched several animated guardians and some scriveners who protected the repository.
In the end, we retrieved many valuable books (the Malefarcium in particular) as well as several philials containing extracted memories. In another senseless destruction of knowledge, the book repository and likely the entire underground section, were destroyed in fire.
Fortunately, we have the indexes of what was stored there so we should be able to discern the memories we have.
We have fled Ascension.

Ascension and Scriveners

We then completed our travel and found that 6 months had passed. I retried the gate back to the Vault of Eladrius, but it would not connect. Given that the damages were not likely to take six months to repair, I fear that Princess Betina has destroyed the Vault.
The link with Furlough has been re-established and forces from there are amassing to move on Berrera. The party no longer trusts the motivations of the Patriarch and has decided to leave the city without calling in on him.
Before we go, I am called in front of the Scriveners for position of an unapproved book (the book of basic magics I obtained from the goblins earlier) Sensing that this was the incident that Peter Kovak encouraged, I went to see them and upon my return, my memories of the book, the vault, and interacting with Peter Kovak were all erased.

Peter Kovak

Having now retrieved my memories from the scriveners / redactionists, I shall quickly commit them in fear of long term damage. They are recorded in the chronological order of their occurrence.
Once again revealing the idiosyncrasies of teleport circles I again found myself in another space, conversing with Peter Kovak; aka Petrovich; aka the son.
Peter Kovak confirmed and clarified many things:
• He confirmed that he is the Son / Peter Kovak / Petrovich
• Our current world, Haven, is but one of a multitude of world strung out like a line of pearls.
• The world before coming to Haven was (is?) known as Pendara
• Our universe was created by the Gods tricking the Primordials into creating something permanent. The Primordials fractured the cosmos into its current state during the dawn wars. In this context, Gods couldn't refer to beings such as Peter Kovak since he has a defined deification date. Interesting...
• Kansul works for a force that is not the primordials and wishes the complete destruction of the current cosmos.
• Many existing races are created from the interaction of a race with extra planar energies:
o Orks are humans affected by the goblin energies of Haven
o Gnolls are goblin imbued with energies of demons (Kansul)
o Tieflings appear to be either humans of elves similarly exposed.
o Dragonborn are humans exposed to the draconian energies of Furlough. They appeared during the God War and tipped the balance of that war
o This raises the question as to whether all but ONE of the races were similarly created. If so, what is the original race?
• It is possible to skip a plane when travelling but this is very difficult
• Peter Kovak broke the Tecera to prevent himself from fracturing as he had in Furlough
• Furlough had no native intelligent races. Peter Kovak brought refugees from Pendata, skipping Haven all together.
• The redactionists effort to suppress demon / planar activity was working untiol the Tecera was broken

Peter Kovak told me that I would have a revelation if I took a path I wouldn't otherwise have taken. I think this was encouraging me in my subsequent interaction with the scriveners that ultimately led to me obtaining a copy of the Malefarcium.
The location of our conversation then expanded to show the other three pantheon members as well as the Lich Queen (Felosial), who demanded a place at the God's Table.
There are, according to the four, 6 groups arrayed against us:
1. The Betrayers who have the key to save the world
2. The Tyrants who were betrayed
3. The Meddlers who play all sides against each other for their amusement
4. The Invader who takes Chaos over order and Justice
5. Peril (Possibly Kansul?) the one they cannot defeat
6. The Opportunists Survivalists who haven't taken a side
.
The Daughter has been changed and now supports continual chaos, change, and mayhem
Followers of Peter Kovak fear that knowledge will be misused

Mortal Stabilization points

The Vault of Eladrius is a Treasure Trove of knowledge. I MUST get back there. Even the tiny amount of information that I was able to glean clarifies and solidifies my existing theories!

Consider the Tecera and the revelation that the gods of Haven are Deified Mortals. Both of these explain so much and allow me to remove one entire magical control source from my seminal treatise on magical origins.

When we originally came to Haven, we were able to displace the original goblinoid inhabitants in part due to the strength of our divine magics. The goblins relied upon deities that were little more than Collective Spontaneous Thaumological Fields. What would the effect on such a field, however, should an active mental force; a force that had experience in the mortal world was applied to it? This would take something that is effectively a semi-conscious collection of belief and apply a will to it. While this would not, inherently, strengthen the being, it would allow it to act with purpose and forethought. Consider the difference between an axe swung with purpose and one falling from a great height. Both are destructive but the second is rather randomly so.

The Tecera even further strengthens the disparity. As an anchor, it allowed the already more purposeful gods to act more directly on the world. Secondly, however, it contained the essences of the gods of our previous world (worlds?). Were these essences available as a power source?

So it now would appear that gods are not a spontaiously stabilized Thaumological Field but rather they are a mortal being that are using such a field as a source of power. It is not yet clear what the exact relation between the two is, however:
1. The mortal being uses the Thaumological Field as a power source but they remain two separate things (the field being a tool)
2. The two merge into a single being with the mortal maintaining control and being dominant.
3. The two merge into a single being with the field being in control. Given events, this would have to be accompanied by a corresponding uplift in the ability of the field to act independently.
4. The two merge into a single being but the resulting being is fundamentally different than either. The resulting merger might, in fact, be unstable. This would fit with legends of gods breaking apart.
Once I can re-enter the Vault of Eladrius, I will endevor to continue my research. In particular, the effect that the destruction of Haven's Tecera has had on the existing gods.

Princess Betina!

Princess Betina! To think that any being let alone an Eladrin of the House of Autumn, would think to destroy knowledge! Not only did she steal the Memory Core of the Library of Anabris, she also attempted to destroy the Vault of Eladrius, doing considerable damage in the process.

Fortunately, I was able to divert and, ultimately, redirect the vault's efforts and saved the vault. Why did Betina appear to have codes that superseded the control codes of the house of Winter? (which Voss has)

Like Olen, Betina has been transformed into a Teifling. Her group claimed to represent the wishes of the Son (the presence of Angels of the Son would lend considerable credence to this claim)

She and I shall be having a discussion in the future.

In the meantime, the motivations of the Barerans remain in question. Are they attempting to suppress the knowledge of the vault in order to prevent Demonic Incursion or to hasten it?

Tecera and Cubes

A Tecera is, apparently, a divine anchoring point used to facilitate a god's interaction with the mortal world. The Tacera of Haven was constructed of the essences of the previous world's gods (indeed, one might speculate that it is a repository of MANY gods from MANY worlds)

The destruction of the Tecera apparently occurred 98 years ago, triggering the events that destabilized out return from Furlough and temporarily weakened the gods of this world. It seems that they were, however, able to interact with the world to some degree even without a Tecera.

The giant Oak that Baern planted on Mount Ascension is now acting as a new Tecera. Focussed primarily on the Mother, of course, but lending extra stability to all.

The Grotius Cube is a 4th level Planar space that would allow a god to travel between worlds. This is how I believe the deified Peter Kovak returned to Haven.

The Vault of Eladrius

The Vault is everything I hoped it would be and more! While it has been largely cut off from the world for the last 98 years, (other than a handful of visitors) it is a wealth of knowledge.

Indeed, it would appear that a great suppression of information has occurred in our past.

It would appear that the World of Haven is but one of a series of world that we have fled to in the past. Indeed, the Vault has knowledge of a chain of such worlds.

As the Vault says, "The Worlds are failing and will not hold back the demons" The Demon refered to was Kansul.

It showed us a string of worlds. Each before Haven was either Red (Conquered by Kansul) or Black (consumed). Haven was yellow (at risk). Furlough, beyond, was green but trending to yellow. It inferred worlds beyond, but these were all in grey (unknown)

When we last fled, 12 heroes set out on a quest. Only 5 survived. Of those that did not survive, was a member of an insectoid race I am unfamiliar with. 2 Elves, 1 Human, 1 dwarf, and one Halfling were the survivors. This quest was, apparently, to gather the essences of the gods of that world.

According the Vault, 3 of the 5 survivors were deified (mortal deification is brilliant, I shall expound on this further!). The Halfling was Elosius Mark, the author of the Malefarcium was not one of the surviving 12. However, Roywynn Goodfellow, another halfling, was deified and (I believe) became the daughter.

Peter Kovak was the Human survivor and was not deified. Instead he continued down the chain. However, one may speculate that the Son (Haven's human god) who was brought to Haven From Furlough was, in fact, a deified Peter Kovak. Indeed the Furlough name of the god, Petrovich, would lend some credence to this.

Ancillin Eladrius, builder of the Vault was the other who was not deified.

So why the suppression? In part, it would appear that a decision was made that magical and extra planar research was responsible for the acceleration of the incursions of Kansul in the past. Suppression of this information through groups such as the redactionists was designed to prevent the new acquisition of this knowledge. Since I do not, at the moment, know how long each previous world was settled before incursion, I can not speculate as to whether the effort was successful or not.

Eladrius' Vault - Autumn

Since I have been bound to the Sword of Summer, It came to me to decide the final circles.

The first seem to be focussed on the actual construction of the Aerie of Autumn. It seems that various elementals of different pure types were merged in the construction.

This might explain why Pure elementals are so uncommon. The merging in thjis process may have caused a wide reaching effect.

It would appear that the clan of Autumn used magic to travel between worlds as traders. This is fortunate as it allowed them to have the magics to allow for the Exodus.

My calculations indicate that it would have taken the energies of a Million Mages to keep the Dimensional Rift open long enough to allow for the Great Migration.

If the final circle is to be believed, this is precisely what happened. Their lives were fed to a process to keep the Rift open.

We are just about to enter the final elemental room.

Eladrius' Vault - Summer

Next, of course, was summer.

The Ancient wonder was the Library of Anabaris. Contained in two great towers, and surrounded by desert.

Unfortunately, my companions refused to follow my sage advice and, again, the second question was incorrectly answered.

In this case, the battle revolved around the destruction of a 50 headed demon which was crushed with the Aerie of Summer. The others assumed that magic hads been used.

The final circle again was focussed of the Aeries. This time the Aerie of summer which was obtained from the Spring Clan (Known for their Aeries) through marriage.

We again were forced to fight the final guardian (in this case a fire elemental)

We know have a vial of elemental fire which does still require Oxygen (though it requires no fuel)

Eladrius' Vault - Spring

Following the seasonal cycle, we next attempted Spring.

Following what appeared to be a pattern, the first circle focussed on one of the ancient wonders. In this case the Palesian Guardens. A forest of Glass Trees that appeared to grow from the ocean.

The next focussed on a great battle where a demon was destroyed. Unfortunately, we mistook the songbird as an indication of the sobriquette of the general responsible. We got this one wrong (I have indicated what I believe to be the correct answer)

Finally, was a circle focussed on the oriogin of the Aerie of Spring. In this case, it appears that the Aerie was siezed after the Exodus from the now extinct Colubra Humanus race.

When the door opened, the room contained an air elemental that sucked the very air from the room. Again, the sword bearer was asked the Soul of the sword but, in this case, the name did not come to mind and we were forced to fight the creature.

We pervailed and retrieved a vial of elemental air.

Eladrius' Vault - Winter

We have enterred the vault using the four Eladrin Seasonal swords to activate a telepotation circle.

Thus far, we seem to be in a holding area designed to test knowledge of the four Eladrin Houses.

Four hallways (one per house) each have three circular mosaics representing past historical events.

Each rotates so that three rings can be lined up to give an answer. If answered correctly, the mosaic transforms into a detailed image of the event in question.

After ansewring, a door at the end of the hall opens and allows enterance to a room representing the element of the house.

Winter:

Winter is, of course, Neflheim, Voss and Olen's house. This enabled a reasonably easy solution to the puzzle.

The first circle was solved with a great wall and a snowy waste.

The resulting image was that of the Nrun Fastness one of the great ancient wonders; a great wall that held back the glaciers.

The second was centered around the shield of Voss and Olen's grandfather. This made the soltion relatively clear.

Since the man is only famous for his slaughter and impalement of the golbinoids of Haven after the Exodus, the goblin and spear were the clear choices.

The resulting image, reinforced the brutality of this leader of the Neflheim clan

The final circle was centered on an image of the Aerie of Winter.

The answer revolved around the war the Eladrin and Dwarves fought over the destruction of several mountain tops during the construction of the Aerie of Winter.

After the door opened we found ourselves in a chamber that was extremely dry. At its center was a pur Water elemental that drew all of the moisture from the air. It asked Voss for the name of the soul of the sword of Winter. At this point, Voss suddenly knew the answer (Peter Kovak) upon answering, the elemental disapated, and we retrienved a vial of elementally pure water from a small font.
